Certification and trade rules for US projects

US projects have to clear two gates: electrical listing, and trade and procurement rules. We check both before we quote.

Listing

Equipment installed under the NEC is generally required to be listed by an OSHA-recognized Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL), such as UL or Intertek. Where a product isn't listed, a field evaluation may be accepted by the authority having jurisdiction. Every quote shows the listing path for each line item.

What we supply in the US

We supply campus and behind-the-meter equipment: MV and LV distribution, UPS, busway, standby generation and cooling. We don't currently offer transmission-level or utility substation equipment for US projects.

Trade and procurement

  • Country of origin. Our equipment is manufactured in China, and every quote states origin.
  • Duties. US tariffs on Chinese-origin equipment change often. Every quote identifies the duties that apply to each line item at the time of quoting.
  • Domestic content rules. Our equipment doesn't qualify for projects that require domestic content, such as Build America, Buy America (BABA) on federally funded infrastructure.

Checking whether a product fits your project?

Send the specification, the state and how the project is funded. We'll confirm listing and trade eligibility before you spend time on a quote.
